Hayden Ranch Assessment Lake County

Hayden Ranch Preservation Assessment

The Hayden Ranch Preservation Assessment Plan offers an unprecedented opportunity to expand access to a beautiful natural resource and preserve a piece of Leadville’s history in Lake County, CO

The Hayden Ranch has incredible potential to be a resource of great public value. The 35-acre ranch headquarters, with sixteen buildings constructed between 1880 and 1930, is on the National Register of Historic Places, designating it as a cultural asset and natural resource in the surrounding rich and varied ecosystem to be enjoyed in perpetuity for generations to come. This begins with a study of the possibilities for Hayden Ranch and Colorado Mountain College, to be shared with potential buyers to garner interest in undertaking the project.

In collaboration with Superbloom, CMC, and the Colorado Historical Foundation, we envision a plan informed by context and designed for future conditions and a process that will leverage the constituents and local knowledge to unleash the full potential of this property.
